hi livejournal, i promise i didn't mean to neglect you. i'm finally used to school now. i think i was in denial for the first week or so because i actually ended up really liking this past summer. for the most part, at least. but now school's here and there's nothing i can do about it. i've already had eight quizzes so far, ugh!!

still trying to correct that big whoopsie from last week but i think it's under control. okay no, it hasn't been brought up and i've been very good about not acting as awkward as i usually do so i suppose it's okay.

the other day i overheard two elderly people talking about death. it wasn't even depressing, to be quite honest. my heart skipped a little when i heard the lady point to the sky and say "i can't wait to be up there." i wonder if anyone is really truly ready for that type of thing? i guess some people say they are but who knows.

p.s. it's still me, brilliantbelle! i finally renamed my account, haha. i don't think i'll ever have the heart to purge four years worth of entries but i needed to change something. it's a romanized version of the word for birds in greek which is also my favorite play by aristophanes (Ὄρνιθες).

phew, i almost panicked because i was thinking "wait! do i have to add her? oh no i hope i wasn't deleted..."

death is easier to talk about in the day, but very scary to me when i go to sleep at night. or when i'm in a movie theater, for some odd reason.

Oh wow, I wasn't even aware you could change your name. HA!
And about death, this may sound completely dorky but I read that the ancient Egyptians didn't see death as a sad or morbid thing at all, and a lot of older cultures are like that. It would be much easier to accept if ours was like that as well.

I really like reading your livejournal becuase I love your Chictopia and I feel like I kind of know you a little? In a non creepy way? I don't know. But I didn't even know about Chictopia until you talked about it in wiwt2 and now I love it

How did you change your name? I've been wanting to change mine for a year now.

I am terrified of death and I try pushing the thought out of my mind anytime I think about it. Maybe accepting death happens with age-- or at least to the point where it can be talked about without the slightest hint of hesitation or being creeped out by the topic.

I think Nephelai is my favorite play, but I love Ornithes! :-) For a long time I was obsessed with the idea of staging it and sewing elaborate bird costumes.
